FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What are your qualifications as a copywriter?

I am an award-winning writer. I am a produced script writer. I was recruited by AARP to write their infomercial about health care reform. In fact, this infomercial aired nationally for a year. I have worked extensively in health care for a medical school and physicians. In fact, I had the privilege of accompanying specialty physicians on hospital rounds and attend their medical classes.

I am an experienced copywriter. I have been trained in Copywriting by the American Writers and Artists, Inc (AWAI) as well as industry leaders.

But the best advantage I can offer you is my ability to relate to and communicate with your clients. I understand the wants, needs, and concerns of women over 50 and I can help you help them. I can write the copy that gets you results because I am your client.

Besides this, I have worked for a number of years in a corporate setting for health care insurance companies. I served as a speechwriter for former Iowa Governor Robert D. Ray when he was the President of Wellmark, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Iowa. I wrote press releases for Girl Scouts of Greater Iowa, prepared continuing education courses for nurses and health insurance sales people, and wrote membership drive materials for the Iowa Motion Picture Association.

What kinds of assignments do you handle?

I write persuasive copy that prompts your clients to take action. That includes emails, auto responders, articles, short emails, and video scripts. If you need other copy, I am happy to discuss those needs with you and I may very well be able to help with that.

What does it cost to hire you for a project?

I have included a list of my services and your estimated investment for each copy type in this information packet. I am happy to provide you with a personalized quote.

Who are your clients and what do they say about your copy?

I have mentioned some of them but there also is a list of clients and their experiences in a separate section of this information packet. I have included some testimonials and you can access my favorite one here ________. This meant a lot to me because ——

How long will it take you to write my copy?

Once an Agreement has been signed, for most projects, you can expect to receive the first draft in 10 – 14 business days, depending upon the size and scope.

What happens if we want you to revise the copy?

I welcome your feedback and want to work with you to make the best possible version of your final product. I typically use the track changes feature in word for you to suggest changes you want and I will review them generally within 24 hours of your submitting them to me. I also am happy to discuss this with you and make the changes after we’ve talked. I usually return the revised draft to you within 2 to 4 business days.

I want you to be happy with the finished product and we can do another round of fine tuning.

What happens after the project is done?

Once the project is done, I provide all of my clients with a complimentary follow-up consultation. We discuss what went well and where any improvements can be made. Experience always is a fine teacher!

During this conversation, we also can review any additional ways I can help you help your clients.

What is it like to work with you?

I am a professional and a self-starter. I am happy to check in with you and provide updates, as well as ask questions as needed.

I try to incorporate details that matter, as well as very effective and powerful storytelling skills.

As a person, I am positive, upbeat and very calm. In fact, I wake up happy each day and people, like the movie crews I have worked with, sometimes ‘hate that’ about me! I get things done. Further, I do what it takes to get things done. I don’t get ruffled. I don’t get upset. I get things done.

Did I mention that I am calm? I have never had high blood pressure (and I hope I never will). I don’t get agitated. I just get things done. I am pleasant on the phone. I am serious about my work. I’m not an introvert. I’m not an extrovert. I’m an omni-vert – meaning I am who I need to be for the circumstance. And I get things done.

In fact, my first name – Debra (my mother named me Debra Dee after Debbie Reynolds and Sandra Dee!) turns out to mean ‘the bee’. I think that means busy bee because I will be a hard worker for you and get things done.

What is the next step if I want to be a client?

Email me at Deb@DebGriffithCopywriting.com and tell me about your project. I will email you a Client Discovery Questionnaire to fill out before we begin. Then I will very much look forward to discussing the details with you on the phone or by Skype or Zoom.

After we are clear about your project details, I will submit an Agreement to you for your consideration. Once we have both signed this Agreement, and I receive your down payment, I will start on your project.

So, now I hope you have gotten to know me a little better. I hope that you feel confident that we will work very well together and that you can use my skills to help you help your clients. If that is the case, I am very much looking forward to help you.
